Nicole Ari Parker was born in New York City. Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and film actress. Her most notable role was that of Teri her passionate lawyer Teri Jospehson in the Showtime television series Soul Food. She is now known by her husband's name, Nikki Kodjoe. While growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, she was always intrigued by acting. When she participated in the Maryland high school contest during her first years of education she received the award for the best actress. In the years following her work in theater, and 'The Washington Ballet Company she earned a certificate in acting from New York University. Her debut role as a character in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was a success and earned an immense amount of appreciation. Following this, she starred in movies such as "Boogie Nights Spark" as well as "Blue Streak". Soul Food, her TV show was greatly praised due to her performance. She also appeared in TV series such as Second Time Around' and Empire. Earlier in the career she acted in several stage productions. Parker who has a keen passion for politics, is married with actor/model Boris Kodjoe. The couple has two children.
Contractor, born at Mumbai in India, was raised in Nigeria through the age of seven. She'd been exposed to many different travels and cultures from a young age. At the age of seven to nine, the young lady was a student at boarding schools in London. Her family moved to Toronto which she stayed in throughout her early years. Contractor trained in classical ballet in Toronto. She also excelled academically. She studied at the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, a fine arts institution that focuses on theater and dance. Contractor decided to take acting more seriously at the age 16 after almost 10 year of dance. Following her graduation from high school Contractor received a scholarship from The University of Toronto to pursue an undergraduate degree in sociology and psychology. She also earned a master's degree in Theater. Contractor, who had spent a year in university, went on to audition in an open audition for Pericles in the world-renowned Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canadain Canada] and was selected for the part. Her work was highly acclaimed throughout the 92 productions that she performed in. The play won her the 2002 award for the most outstanding production of the Year by Canadian Critics. The actor was invited to join Stratford's conservatory program, where a select eight men as well as four women can be accepted for a 20-week crash course on the classical stage that she eagerly took. The role was secured for Contractor for the following series of plays She was also offered Hermia's role as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
